Art, How I've Missed You!
Growing up I dreamed about becoming an illustrator. While that dream may have now changed, my love for art certainly has not. Taking time out to draw/paint etc is really important to me. It gives me a chance to step back from everything else going on in my life and just enjoy being creative.
Since being at university I’ve been ridiculously busy. Aside from a few doodles in lectures, I...

I'm not dead.
Stop the search parties, I’m still alive! I haven’t blogged in a stupidly long time and I feel really bad about it. University has kept me more than busy, and in the small spaces of time I have to myself I just haven’t been inspired to write. But new year, new starts and all. I’m going to try my best to get into this blogging business. After all, I’m a journalist.

Art in Fashion →
Before the days of fashion photography, illustrators were integral to the industry; their work often featured in the best magazines. Vogue have an archive of some really beautiful illustrations, all of which can be bought. Even if the prices are a little too steep for you, it’s a great site to be inspired, enjoy art, and of course, start making a wish list for the time £350 becomes small...

Autobiography of a Geisha
Last month, I spent some time rooting through a ridiculous amount of boxed up books. Many of them were collecting dust, others were torn and fading. All of them were just 50p.
I didn’t want to read a cheesy, romance novel, or another predictable murder mystery. I wanted to read something that would broaden my horizons as people often say. I found a few books, the most interesting being one...

Drunk Shopping.
Pretty much everything we do when drunk seems like a good idea at the time. The next morning however, is usually filled with regrets.
The drunken texts, late night phone calls, and sloppy facebook status’ are all things I have engaged in. Something I luckily can say I have never tried, is drunk shopping. In fact, I make it a rule to hide my debit card in a place only my sober self can...

Ball Gowns and Bongo Dancing
It was time to get fancy last night. To end our two weeks of freshers we had a ball. Of course we had to travel in style so yes, we did indeed hire a party bus.
The night itself was an awesome way to end possibly the best 2 weeks. Silent disco, cheesy pop songs, and sweaty drunks. Yep. The night had it all. I would personally like to thank all of those sweaty drunks for assuming I’d like...

Finished my first article.
I have an assignment due in December. Actually, I have lots of assignments due in by then. But this first one is to write 6 articles covering an area called Portswood, and I’ve just finished article numero uno. Now I have to admit it’s not the most exciting article. I mean, it’s kind of about a church moving into a Bingo Hall…. But all the same it was pretty fun to write....

A little about me.
18 years ago I was born in a place called Gloucester. My parents decided to call me Lara after their favorite film ‘Dr Zhivago’. It was kind of flattering really, until I found out Lara in the film was the slutty mistress. I’ve spent the past 18 years living in the lovely Forest of Dean. (I would be really surprised if anyone has even the slightest idea of where that is) Google...
